Getting Started

New to Skinscave?

What is Skinscave?

Skinscave is a secure peer-to-peer marketplace for buying and selling Counter-Strike 2 skins. We connect buyers and sellers directly, offering competitive prices and a safe trading environment built on Steam integration.

How do I get started?

Simply sign in with your Steam account - no registration forms or complicated setup required. Once signed in you can browse the marketplace and buy immediately, or head to Account → Inventory to list your own items for sale.

What items can I buy and sell on Skinscave?

Skinscave supports all tradeable Counter-Strike 2 cosmetics - including weapon skins, knives, gloves, stickers, cases, capsules, and agents. Items must be in your Steam inventory and eligible for trading to be listed.

Why should I use Skinscave instead of trading directly?

Skinscave is a peer-to-peer CS2 skin marketplace built around three things: safety, fair pricing, and low fees. Every account is Steam-verified, all trades run through Steam's official trading API, and seller funds are held in escrow until the trade is confirmed - so buyers never lose money to a failed trade. Prices are suggested from real-time market data, buyers pay 0% fees, and seller fees start at 5% and fall as low as 2.5% with volume.

Buying

Buying items.

How do I buy an item?

Find an item you want on the marketplace, then click Buy Now or Add to Cart. Payment is deducted from your Skinscave balance. Once your purchase is confirmed, a trade offer is sent automatically to your Steam account - just accept it to receive your item.

Can I negotiate prices?

Yes - Skinscave has a built-in offer system. You can submit a counter-offer on any listing, and the seller can accept, decline, or counter back. This gives both sides flexibility to reach a fair price within a transparent, on-platform environment.

How long until I receive my item after buying?

Once a purchase is confirmed, the trade offer is typically sent within a few minutes. Delivery depends on how quickly the seller accepts and Steam processes the trade. Most trades complete within minutes to a couple of hours. If a trade has not arrived within 24 hours, open a support ticket.

Can I cancel an order after placing it?

You can request a cancellation if the trade offer has not yet been sent. Once an active trade offer is in progress, cancellation is not automatic - please open a support ticket and we will assist. Cancellations are granted at our discretion based on the status of the trade.

Selling

Listing & selling.

How do I list an item for sale?

Go to Account → Inventory. Your eligible CS2 items will be shown there. Select an item, set your asking price, and confirm the listing - it will appear on the marketplace immediately. Make sure your Steam trade URL is set in Account → Settings → Security before listing, as it is required to send and receive trade offers.

How do I edit or remove a listing?

Go to Account → My Listings. From there you can update your asking price or delist the item entirely. You can make changes at any time as long as no active trade is currently in progress for that item.

When do I receive payment for a completed sale?

Funds are credited to your Skinscave balance once the trade is confirmed as complete. You will see the balance update in Account → Balance, where you can use it to purchase items on the marketplace.

What happens if a buyer doesn't complete the trade?

If a buyer fails to accept the trade offer it will expire, and your item will automatically return to your active listings. If the item does not reappear within a reasonable time, or if you notice anything unusual, open a support ticket and we will investigate.

Payments

Payments & fees.

What payment methods do you accept?

At launch, Skinscave accepts credit and debit card payments for balance deposits, processed securely through Stripe. Additional payment options may be added in the future. Your deposited balance can then be used to purchase items on the marketplace.

How do fees work?

Buyers pay no fees - the listed price is exactly what you pay. Sellers pay a platform fee on each completed sale that decreases as your monthly sales volume grows: Standard (no minimum) 5.0% · Bronze ($1,000+/mo) 4.5% · Silver ($5,000+/mo) 4.0% · Gold ($10,000+/mo) 3.5% · Platinum ($50,000+/mo) 3.0% · Diamond ($100,000+/mo) 2.5%. There are no hidden charges.

My deposit failed or is still showing as pending - what should I do?

Deposits are processed by Stripe and are usually instant. If your deposit failed, your card was not charged. Common causes: incorrect card details, an expired card, insufficient funds, or your bank blocking the transaction. Try again with a different card or contact your bank. If your deposit shows as pending for more than 15 minutes, open a support ticket with the approximate time and amount - we will locate it and credit your account.

Can I get a refund?

Deposits are non-refundable once credited to your balance. If you have a dispute regarding a purchase - for example, an item that was not delivered - contact support within 48 hours of the transaction and we will investigate. Refunds on disputed purchases are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Revenue Sharing

Fine revenue sharing.

What is fine revenue sharing?

When either party in a trade declines to complete it, Skinscave issues them a fine. The other party - who was left without their item or payment - automatically receives a share of that fine credited to their Skinscave balance. This happens without any action on your part and is our way of compensating you for the inconvenience caused.

How much of the fine do I receive?

You receive 25% of the fine issued to the offending seller. The exact amount credited to you is shown as a "Revenue share" entry in your transaction history, so you can always see precisely what you are owed.

When will the funds be paid out to me?

There is a 30-day waiting period before a revenue share is paid out. In addition, the fine must be successfully collected from the offending seller before the funds can be released to you. Once both conditions are met, the balance is credited to your account automatically and is available to spend on the marketplace immediately.

How can I track my pending and paid revenue shares?

You can view all of your revenue shares - both pending and paid - in Account → Transactions, where each entry is listed with its status and the amount owed. Your trade history also reflects any revenue share associated with a given trade. No further action is required from you; the credit will appear on your balance as soon as it is released.

Security

Security & safety.

Is it safe to trade here?

Absolutely - security is our top priority. We use Steam's official authentication system, implement secure trade verification, and maintain strict fraud prevention measures. All trades are conducted through Steam's official trading API. No workarounds, no custody of your items.

How do you protect against scams?

We employ multiple security layers: verified Steam accounts only, automated trade monitoring, a user reputation system, and a secure escrow service. Our systems detect suspicious activity automatically. Never share your Steam login credentials, trade confirmation codes, or payment details with anyone claiming to be from Skinscave - our staff will never ask for these.

How does escrow work on Skinscave?

When you buy an item, your payment moves into escrow immediately rather than going straight to the seller. The seller then sends the item through Steam's official trade system. The seller's funds are held in escrow for roughly 8 days after the trade is confirmed complete, giving time to catch any disputes before payout. This means a buyer is never left out of pocket if a seller fails to deliver, and sellers are paid reliably once the trade clears.

I've lost access to my 2FA authenticator - how do I log in?

If you saved your recovery codes when you set up 2FA, you can enter one on the 2FA login page to regain access. Each recovery code works only once. After logging in, go to Account → Settings → Security to disable 2FA and re-enrol with a new authenticator. If you no longer have your recovery codes, open a support ticket with proof of account ownership (your Steam profile URL and any past transaction details). Manual account recovery requires identity verification and may take 1–3 business days.

Your account.

How do I withdraw my funds?

You can withdraw eligible sales proceeds from Account → Balance. Complete Stripe Express setup, then choose Withdraw and enter an amount within your withdrawable balance. Withdrawals are final once submitted and normally arrive in your connected bank account within 1–3 business days. Promotional credit and other non-withdrawable funds cannot be withdrawn.

How do I set my Steam trade URL?

Go to Account → Settings → Security and paste your Steam trade URL into the designated field. Your trade URL is required before any trade offer can be sent to or from your account. You can find your trade URL in Steam: Inventory → Trade Offers → Who can send me Trade Offers? → Third-Party Sites.

How do I verify my email address?

A verification email is sent to your address when you first add or update your email in Account → Settings. Click the link in that email to verify. If you did not receive it, check your spam folder, then use the resend option in Account → Settings. Email verification is required to receive important account and transaction notifications.

Support

Getting help.

What if something goes wrong?

Our dedicated support team is here to help. If you encounter any issues - with a trade, payment, or your account - contact us through Account → Support. We investigate all disputes fairly and work to resolve issues quickly. Most support tickets receive a response within 24 hours.

My trade offer was sent but the item hasn't arrived - what do I do?

First, check your Steam trade history (Steam → Inventory → Trade History) to confirm the offer status. If the offer is pending, it may not have been accepted yet - Steam trade offers expire after 14 days. If the offer shows as accepted in Steam but your Skinscave trade still shows as pending, open a support ticket with your trade URL and the affected transaction ID. We will investigate and resolve it, usually within 24 hours.

How do I report a fraudulent listing or suspicious seller?

If you believe a listing is fraudulent or a seller is acting suspiciously - unusually low prices, pressure to trade outside the platform, or requests for personal information - do not proceed with the purchase. Open a support ticket and describe what you observed, including the listing ID or seller's Steam profile URL if available. Our team reviews all reports and will investigate promptly.
